Anandapura was situated near the mountain-range of Vindhya.³¹ It was a centre of trade where goods were carried by land route, by carts and other vehicles. It is said that the walls of the city were made of bricks.³² The citizens of Anandapura visited the river Saraswatī and celebrated feast there.³³ Anandapura was a centre of Jain monks,³⁴ who are said to have travelled from here to Mathurā³⁵
