Rāma, Roma, Romasa or Romaya or Romaka or Romapāsa or Rumā visaya Roma was known for clean (amila) cloth, and rumā salt.⁴⁹ Romaka is mentioned in the Mahābhārata H. E. Wilson identifies Ruma with Sāmbhar, and as rauma means "salt," it is probable that the term may have been applied to the Sāmbhar lake in Rajputana, as well as to the Salt-Range of hills in the Punjab.⁵⁰
