The spelling of the word is corrupt in the printed Gaṇapāṭha, but the Kāśikā reading is supported by Vardhamāna in his Gaṇa-Ratna-Mahodadhi¹ (IV 285) who gives it on the authority of Śakaṭāṅgaja. Another reading seems to have been *Muchikarṇa*² (corrupt *Śuchikarṇa*, G. R. M., p. 174).
