In the data of 100 B. C. *i.e.*, in Chapter XXXII, some republics are mentioned in the Mahā-Bhārata which we have not met with in earlier literature. They are :—
(1) The Gaņas of *Utsavasanketas*.
(2) The republic of the *Sūdras* and that of the *Ābhīras* who are placed in the Indus valley.
