Historical and modern instances of Tulāpuruṣa. An historical instance of a Tulāpuruṣa is given by the minister Caṇḍeśvara of Mithilā who in the year 1314 A. D. gave to an assembly of Brahmans his own weight of gold ¹. Mandlik, the well-known author of "Hindu Law", gave away his own weight of silver in 1875 or 76 in Wai near Sattāra (Bühler).
