Thus there are mentioned interests to the amount of 100 for 2000 and 75 for 1000 Kahāpaṇas (Karṣāpaṇas) i. e., as these are very probably monthly interests, 60 p. c. and 90 p. c. respectively ; the first rate agrees with the rate of interest laid down in the Smṛtis.
