²⁶⁸ तत्राद्यमाद्यः श्लोकः। आसीदिदं तमोभूतं न प्राज्ञायत किंचन। ततः स्वयंभूर्भगवान्प्रादुरासीच्चतुर्मुखः ॥. Manu I. 5 is quoted as the verse of a स्मृतिकार by कमलशील in his comment on शान्तरक्षित's तत्त्वसंग्रह (कारिका 3118) in the middle of the 8th century A.
