⁶³ It follows from the discussion in the तन्त्रवार्तिक that the ancient *pāṭha* in its day was ‘लेपगन्धापकर्षणं शौचममेध्यलिप्तस्य’ while the present text has ‘०शौचममेध्यस्य’. *Vide* वसिष्ठधर्मसूत्र III. 48 which reads ‘०कर्षणे शौचममेध्यलिप्तस्य’, etc.
