⁸³ शूद्रा यदार्यजारा न पोषाय धनायति। तै. सं. VII. 4. 19.3 and Vājasaneya Saṁhitā 23. 30. ‘Arya’ may mean an Ārya, or simply ‘master’ or ‘vaiśya’ (as in later literature). The words न...यति may mean ‘He (the father of the śūdra woman) does not desire wealth for his own prosperity’ (as he is pained by the event).
