²⁸⁸ शकटं शाकिनी गावो जालमास्यन्दनं वनम्। अनूपं पर्वतो राजा दुर्भिक्षे नव वृत्तयः। छागलेय in गृह. र. p. 449. The बृहद्देवता VI. 138 has the first half and reads the 2nd half as समुद्रः पर्वतो राजा एवं जीवामहे वयम्. In some Mss. of the निरुक्त this verse occurs in VI. 5 where the readings are °आस्यन्दनं वनम् उदधिः पर्वतो राजा दुर्भिक्षे नव वृत्तयः ॥. आस्यन्दन may be the same as स्यन्दन (रथ)
