v2.c30.5
¹⁴⁰⁸ The word गुरु means only the relatives of the husband and not the father of the widow ‘गुरवश्च श्वश्रूश्वशुरदेवरादयो भर्तुसगोत्रा द्रष्टव्या न पित्रादयः’ मेधा० on मनु IX. 59. Manu (IX. 60-61) shows that some said that only one son could be had by नियोग, while others held that two could be had.
