v2.c35.33
The Dharmasindhu (III. pūrvārdha p. 299) says that brahmayajña is to be performed once either after morning homa or after midday saṁdhyā or after Vaiśvadeva, but those who study the Āśvalāyanasūtra should perform it only after midday saṁdhyā. After ācamana and prāṇāyāma one should make the saṁkalpa (śrīparameśvaraprītyartham brahmayajñaṁ kariṣye tadaṅgatayā devarṣyācārya-tarpaṇaṁ kariṣye) and if one’s father is dead one should add in the saṁkalpa (pitṛtarpaṇaṁ ca kariṣye). It then sets out how it is to be performed by various people, such as those who have studied all vedas or one veda or only a portion or when one has no time. It says that the followers of the Taittirīya śākhā repeat the words ‘vidyud-asi vidya me pāpmānam-ṛtāt satyam-upaimi’ at the commencement and the words ‘vṛṣṭirasi vṛśca me pāpmānam-ṛtāt satyamupāgām’ at the end. If a man is unable to repeat brahmayajña sitting he may do it even when lying down.
