¹⁹³⁵ The method of offering these oblations is first to mention the sage, the deity and metre of the verse and then to state the purpose of its employment in the rite, then to repeat the whole verse preceded by *om* and followed by *svāhā* and then to put the oblation on to fire, e.g. अग्निमीळे वैश्वामित्रो मधुच्छन्दा अग्निर्गायत्री। उपाकर्मप्रधानद्विपत्सुकुहोमे विनियोगः। ओं अग्निमीळे पुरोहितं यज्ञस्य देवमृत्विजम्। होतारं रत्नधातमम्। स्वाहा। अग्नय इदं न मम।
