In most of the gṛhyasūtras another rite called Āgrayaṇa is described immediately after Āśvayujī. Haradatta on Gaut. VIII. 19 explains that in the Āśvayujī rite mentioned by Gaut. both the Āśvayujī described above from Āśv. gṛ. and Āgrayaṇa are included. Āgrayaṇa is also called 'Navayajña' in Gobhilasmṛti (in verse III. 103) and Navasasyeṣṭi in Manu IV. 27.
