²³⁸¹ यवमात्रं पिप्पलमात्रं वा प्राशित्रमवद्यति। सत्याषाढ II. 3. p. 205. The com. explains ‘pippala’ as the berry of aśvattha, while the com. on Āp. III. 1. 2 explains ‘पिप्पलमात्रं व्रीहिप्रमाणमित्यर्थः’. According to some a portion is taken only from the Āgneya puroḍāśa (vide Sat. II. 3, p. 206). प्राशितुः ब्रह्मणः इदं प्राशित्रं क्रियतेऽनेनेति हरणं पात्रम्। com. on Sat. II. 3. p. 206. Vide note 2339. Kāt. (I. 3. 40-41) says that it is like a mirror in shape (that is like an elongated circle) or like a camasa (i. e. rectangular in shape). In modern times only the rod is very small, otherwise प्राशित्रहरण is just like जुहू in shape.
