²⁴¹¹ According to Sat. II. 5. p. 224 in the iḍopahvāna there is a modification viz. उपहूतैवं यजमाना for उपहूतोयं यजमानः and so in the 2nd iḍā the wife performs japa; while (as the com. of Sat. notes) the followers of Ṛg. retained उपहूतोयं यजमानः in the 2nd iḍā also and so the yajamāna engages in the japa.
