There are differences in the procedure of darśeṣṭi as compared with that of the pūrṇamāseṣṭi which have been noted in the above at the respective places. There are several modifications of the darśapūrṇamāsa such as the Dākṣāyaṇa yajña, the Vaimṛdha, Sākamprasthīya, which are omitted here for want of space. Jaimini (II. 3. 5-11) establishes that the Dākṣāyaṇa, Sākamprasthīya and Saṁkrama yajñas are modifications of darśapūrṇamāsa.
