²²⁸⁶ The paribhojanīya darbhas are meant for making seats for the priests, the sacrificer and his wife. Vide Haug's tr. of Ait. Br. p. 79 for a note on *barhis*, paribhojanīya and *veda*. Āp. I. 6. 4 states that while making the veda bunch the mantra 'tvayā vediṁ vividuḥ' (Tai. Br. III. 7. 4) is recited.
