Jai. (IV. 1. 22-24) concludes that āmikṣā is the principal purpose of mixing curds in boiled milk and not *vājina* and in VIII. 2. 1-9 that in offering vājina the procedure of iṣṭi is to be followed and not of Somayāga though *śruti* in one passage states 'somo vai vājinam'.
