²⁵¹⁹ According to Āśv. III. 5. 9 'होता यक्षदग्निं पुरोडाशस्य जुषतां हविर्होतुर्यज' is the direction of the maitrāvaruṇa to the hotṛ and Ṛg. III. 1. 23 and III. 54. 22 are the puronuvākyā and yājyā of the offering of puroḍāśa to Agni Sviṣṭakṛt (in all animal sacrifices).
