²⁶²⁶ वषट्कर्तुश्चंसंन्चोतापोहिशीया ब्रूयात्तदैनमन्वालभेरन्नपावृण्वानाः । लाट्यायन II. 10. 20; the com. says that the head was covered for fear of being scorched by fire when the yajñāyajñīya addressed to Agni was being chanted. It is appropriate that when the hymn to waters is reached the covering of the head is removed. Vide Āp. XIII. 15. 18.
