²⁵⁸⁹ स्तोत्रगतस्य साम्नः प्रस्तावोद्गीथप्रतीहारोपद्रवनिधनानि भक्तयस्तत्पाञ्चविध्यमित्युक्तं तत्र प्रथमा भक्तिः प्रस्तावः । com. on ल.ट्यायनश्रौत VI. 10. 1; प्रस्तावोद्गीथप्रतीहारोपद्रवनिधनानि भक्तयस्तत्पाञ्चविध्यं स्मृतं व्याख्यास्याम ओंकारहिङ्काराभ्यां साप्तविध्यम् । पञ्चविधसूत्र I. 1 (ed. by Dr. Simon). The Tāṇḍya Br. IV. 9. 9 mentions these elements except upadrava and so does Chān. Up. II. 2. 1 where हिङ्कार is said to be one of the five elements of a sāman, while in छान्दोग्य II. 10. 3 उपद्रव also is mentioned.
