²⁶³⁹ The verse to be chanted by brahmā is आविर्मर्या आ वाजं वाजिनो अग्मन्देवस्य सवितुः सवे । स्वर्गा अर्चन्तो जयत ॥ This is one of the few verses of the Sāmaveda that are not found in the Ṛgveda. If the brahmā cannot chant it, he is to mutter it thrice (Āśv. IX. 9. 8).
