¹⁷⁷ अदेवमातृका चेति शस्यते भूर्विभूतये । काम. 4. 52. देशो नद्यम्बु-वृष्ट्यम्बु-संपन्नव्रीहिपालितः। स्यान्नदीमातृको देवमातृकश्च यथाक्रमम् ॥ अमरकोश; where the rice crop depends solely on the rainfall the country is called देवमातृक (देवो माता यस्य) and where it depends on the water of rivers, tanks &c. it is called नदीमातृक.
