v4.c63.1125

¹⁰⁸⁵ A decision of the P. C. from Madras held that property inherited by two brothers living as members of a joint family from their maternal grandfather became joint property in their hands with rights of survivorship. Vide *Venkayyamma v. Venkataramanayamma* L. R. 29 I. A. 156. See 27 Mad 300 (F. B.) and 29 All. 667 for the difficulties caused by L. R. 29 I. A. 156. But it may be taken that even in Madras such property inherited from the maternal grandfather will now be held to be the separate property of the two brothers. Vide *Muhammad Husain Khan v. Kishva Nandan Sahai* L. R. 64 I. A. 250 which explains away (on pp. 264-265) the case of L. R. 29 I. A. 156.
