There is some difference about the number and nomenclature of the vyavahārapadas among Manu and other writers of smṛtis. The following table will give some idea of the divergence as to nomenclature and the sequence in which they are treated of. All do not mention them in the same order as in Manu VIII. 4-7. For example, the order in Yāj. is ṛṇādāna, upanidhi, dāyavibhāga, sīmā-vivāda, svāmipālavivāda, asvāmivikraya &c. Yāj. does not enumerate all of them in one place as Manu and Nārada do.
