⁵⁸⁶ Before the red-hot iron is placed on his hands the शोध्य repeats 'त्वमग्ने सर्वभूतानामन्तश्चरसि पावक। साक्षिवत्पुण्यपापेभ्यो ब्रूहि सत्यं कवे मम ॥ या. II. 104; the आदिपर्व 5. 27. (cr. ed. 5. 22) has the same verse (but reads पुण्यपापेषु सत्यं ब्रूहि कवे वचः).
