⁷⁸⁷ प्रतिगृह्णाति पोगण्डं यश्च सप्रधनं नरः । तस्याप्येष भवेद्धर्मः षडेते विधयः समाः ॥ नारद V. 15. नारद IV. 35 defines पोगण्ड as a synonym of बाल (a minor up to the 16th year) 'बाल आ षोडशाद्वर्षात्पोगण्ड इति शब्द्यते'. Gaut. XII. 34 and मनु VIII. 148 employ the word.
