³⁴⁴ स धर्मस्थसखः शश्वदर्थिप्रत्यर्थिनां स्वयम् । ददर्श संशयच्छेद्यान्व्यवहारानतन्द्रितः ॥ रघुवंश । 17. 39. The word धर्मस्थ used here for judges may be noted. Kauṭ. uses the same word in III. 1. From a detailed examination of the Raghuvaṁśa it appears very probable that Kālidāsa had closely studied Kauṭilya's Arthaśāstra.
