v4.c63.t2.137

According to all High Courts in India except that of Bombay a daughter's estate is similar to that of the widow. She takes only a limited interest, can only enjoy the usufruct of the property and cannot alienate it. On her death the estate passes not to her heirs, but to the next heir of her father. In Bombay,¹³⁷⁴ however, the daughter takes an absolute interest in her father’s estate when she succeeds as heir and on her death the estate will go to her own heirs.
