¹⁴³⁰ Vide *Akshaya Chandra v. Haridas* 35 Cal. 721 at p. 726 and *Nalinaksha v. Rajanikanta* 58 Cal. 1392 for the propositions that the doctrine of spiritual benefit cannot be applied consistently in all cases such as the succession of females to males, the succession of samānodakas &c. and that in cases not contemplated by Jīmūtavāhana or his followers in the Bengal school, the principle of propinquity and of natural love and affection should be followed. The Dāyatattva p. 195 after quoting Bṛ. cited above observes that both the superiority of piṇḍas offered and nearness of line are to be considered in inheritance, 'पिण्डदानसम्बन्धतारतम्येन आसन्नजननातारतम्येन च धनेऽधिकारी'.
