Dāyabhāga IV. 3. 10 and 29. Vide *Prosanno v. Sarat* 36 Cal. 86 (son being held the preferential heir to a married daughter to strīdhana given to a woman after marriage by her father), *Ram Gopal v. Narain* 33 Cal. 315 (mother held entitled to preference over the husband of a childless woman who died leaving property gifted to her by her father after marriage). In both these cases there is an elaborate examination of passages of the Dāyabhāga and it is shown how Śrīkṛṣṇa and even modern writers have created confusion by offering varying explanations.
