*SURACĀNDRĀYAṆA*—The Agnipurāṇa defines it as one where somehow or other (and not in a rising or falling scale) a man partakes of 240 morsels of food in a month. Yāj. III. 324 speaks of it as a variety of Cāndrāyaṇa. Viṣṇu. Dh S. (47 9) calls it 'sāmānyacāndrāyaṇa' ³⁵³
