V. 93-94. The first verse is the same as Vasiṣṭha 19.48 (Führer's text is corrupt, which must be corrected into नाघदोषोऽस्ति) which cites it as Yama's. It is the position that he holds that renders the king (whether a kṣatriya, brāhmaṇa or śūdra) free from āśauca The विष्णुधर्मसूत्र (22. 47-52) restricts the absence of āśauca by saying ‘kings are free from āśauca when they are performing the duties of a king (such as administration of justice)': ‘न राज्ञां राजकर्मणि न व्रतिनां व्रते न सत्रिणां सत्रे न कारूणां स्वकर्मणि न राजाज्ञाकारिणां तदिच्छया।.’
