¹⁶¹⁷ नासिक्यं नगरमिति सङ्काशादिषु पाठः करिष्यते। महाभाष्य vol III p. 42 on पा VI 1. 63. सङ्काश occurs as one among many ganas in पा IV. 2. 80. नासिक्य is derived from नासिका (nose) and was probably so named because the nose of Sūrpanakhā was cut off by Lakṣmaṇa there.
