*Avamadina*—a week day on which two tithis end is so called. NS 153 quoting Ratnamālā ("Yatraikaḥ spṛśate tithidvayāvasānam vāras-ced-avamadinam taduktam-āryaiḥ"). This is to be avoided when beginning a vrata for the first time, as there is kṣaya of a tithi here.
