v6.c81.1234
*Kimicchakavrata*—Mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇa 122 8, 17, 20 (Venk. ed.). It consists in asking an *atithi* what he wants and in offering what he wants. There is the story of Avikṣit, son of Karandhama, whose mother had undertaken this vrata and who had made a promise to his mother to carry out her vrata. He proclaimed ‘śṛṇvantu merthinaḥ sarve pratijñātaṃ mayā tadā। kimicchatha dadāmyeṣa kriyamāṇe kimicchake’॥ (Mārk. 122.20).
