*Pūjā*—vide above pp. 34-36 for the upacāras; in most vratas five upacāras are enjoined viz gandha, puṣpa, dhūpa, dīpa and naivedya. There are many rules about certain flowers &c. not being employed in the worship of certain gods and goddesses such as no dūrvā in worship of Durgā, no bilva leaves for the Sun. In mahābhiṣeka water should be poured with a conch except in the worship of Śiva and Sūrya. For general pūjāvidhi common to all vratas, vide VR 47-49.
