*Mahāṣaṣṭhī*—When on K śu 6 the Sun is in Vṛścika (Scorpion) and there is Tuesday that is called Mahāṣaṣṭhī, a person should fast the previous day, worship Agni on 6th and celebrate *mahotsava* of Agni and feed brāhmaṇas; all sins are destroyed, SmK 378, PC 102.
