²⁵² नक्तं हविष्यान्नमनोदनं वा फलं तिलाः क्षीरमथाम्बु चाज्यम्। यत्पञ्चगव्य यदि वा च वायु प्रशस्तमत्रोत्तरमुत्तर च॥ वायुपुराण q by का. नि. p 261, का वि p 431, घ क्रि कौ p 57 (ascribes to वराहपुराण), धर्मसिन्धु p 16 वायुपुराण indicates 'an absolute fast' (not drinking even water) One may resort to one of the several options contained in this verse according to one's physical ability.
