If the pratipad is mixed with amāvāsyā or dvitīyā, the worship of Bali, the proper time of which is night, should be performed on pratipad mixed with amāvāsyā, since Hemādri quotes from Padma 'Śivarātri and Bali's day should be observed on the day when the tithi is mixed with the preceding tithi' and on account of the *yugma-vākya* Mādhava also is of the same⁵¹⁹ opinion
