¹⁷⁶⁵ शेषतत्त्वं महेशानि निर्वीर्ये प्रबले कलौ। स्वकीया केवला ज्ञेया सर्वदोषविवर्जिता॥ अथवाऽत्र स्वयम्भावि कुसुमं प्राणवल्लभे। कथित तत्प्रतिनिधौ कुसीदं परिकीर्तितम्॥ महानिर्वाण० VI. 14-15. अत्र means 'in offering शेषतत्त्व' (i e. the 5th). The com. explains 'कुसीदं रक्तचन्दनम्'. Women that could be śaktis were of three classes, स्वीया (one's own wife), परकीया (wife of another) and साधारणी (a woman who is a *veśyā*).
