*Śālikanātha*—pupil of Prabhākara and author of the commentary Ṛjuvimalā on Prabhākara's Bṛhatī and of an independent work 'Prakaraṇa-pañcikā'. It is noteworthy that in Ṛjuvimalā on Bṛhatī (p. 91) he quotes a verse from Ślokavārtika (Vākyādhikaraṇa verses 43-44) and refers to Kumārila with great respect as 'Yadāhur-Vārtikakāra-miśrāḥ'; 710-770 A. D.
