²⁰⁶⁹ For reference to Sautrāmaṇī, vide above p. 1079 note 1750 Jai. III 5 14-15 and IV. 3. 29-31 deal with it. The Tai S. V. 6. 3-4. states 'Agnim citvā sautrāmaṇyā yajeta'. Vide H. of Dh. Vol. II, pp. 1224-1228 for a description of this sacrifice, which is a combination of an *iṣṭi* with animal sacrifice. The peculiarity of this rite is that, along with cups of milk, cups of wine are offered to Aśvins, Sarasvatī and Indra.
