As against this, when Hemādri²¹⁰⁷ quoting Padma says ‘If a woman is pregnant, freshly delivered, or is ill and becomes impure, she should get her *vrata* performed through another and when she becomes pure she may observe it personally,’ the N. S. remarks that this applies to men also when they are impure, since the gender here is not intended to be emphasized.
