²²³⁹ तद्वद्भगवता तेन शिखाप्रोक्तेन भिक्षुणा । ज्ञानं कृतमदीनं मे विषयेषु न जायते ॥... युक्तसङ्गः स्थितो राज्ये विशिष्टोऽन्यैस्त्रिदण्डिभि ॥ Chap. 308. 34-37. पञ्चशिख literally means 'one having five śikhās (locks of hair on the head)'. Therefore, he is referred to as शिखाप्रोक्त (lit declared by his śikhās).
