²⁵²⁴ It is better to read '*agni-jyotir*' (in Gītā VIII 24) as one word instead of '*agnir jyotir*' (as in most editions), because both the Bṛ Up. VI. 2 15 and Chān Up V 10. 1 start the Devayāna path with *arcis* and omit Agni
