²⁴⁴² य उ त्रिधातु पृथिवीमुत द्यामेको दाधार भुवनानि विश्वा। ऋ 1.154 4 The word त्रिधातु occurs at least two dozen times in the Ṛgveda, but the meaning is not certain. In Ṛg VIII 40 12 we have 'tridhātunā śarmaṇā pātamasmān' (protect us with a three-fold protection) and it is difficult to say what 'tridhātu' protection is.
