Heaven and earth (as dual divinities) have six hymns addressed to them in the Ṛg. viz. I. 159-160, 185, IV. 56, VI. 70, VII. 53) and they are called 'rodasī' and sisters (Ṛg. I. 185. 5). They are also called parents of the gods (Ṛg. VIII. 97. 8, X. 2. 7).
