We have now considered the available evidence proving (1) the political connexion of Kauṭilya with Emperor Chandra Gupta Maurya, and (2) the existence of the Kauṭilīya Arthaśāstra as a literary work. It now remains to prove that that work is the production of an individual author and not of a school, as is frequently the case with Indian treatises.
